Job Title: Vendor and Product Specialist
Reports to: Business Development Manager
Department: Business Development & Marketing
Job Summary
This is a key position designed to strengthen our supplier
partnerships, grow and rationalize product lines, and support our sales and
marketing initiatives across all branches.
In this role, you’ll serve as a strategic link between our supply chain, sales
team, and marketing department, helping bring new products to market, optimize
existing offerings, and strengthen internal technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain vendor relationships, especially with IDCO and NAHAD members
- Leverage vendor discount programs, training, and co-op opportunities with key suppliers
- Lead and coordinate product and application training
- Support sales teams with product training, demos, sample kits, and customer-facing materials
- Oversee PIM program for all vendors, products, and services offered by McGill Hose
- Deliver accurate product content for digital and print materials
- Conduct market and competitor research; gather customer and field team feedback to drive product improvements and line optimization
- Effectively bundle solution offerings and cross-selling strategies
Ideal Candidate Will Have
- 3+ years of experience in industrial distribution or vendor relationship support (hose & fittings experience strongly preferred)
- Working knowledge of IDCO, NAHAD, and vendor discount/co-op programs
- Experience delivering or coordinating vendor-led sales trainings
- Familiarity with Epicor P21, RubberTree CRM, and general ERP/CRM tools
- Strong communication, project management, and organization skills
- A collaborative, detail-oriented mindset and a passion for process improvement
